MacEwan University

MacEwan University is a post-discretionary educational establishment arranged in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.

History 

Developed in 1971 as Grant MacEwan Community College, the association was named after Dr. J.W. Stipend MacEwan, maker, instructor and past lieutenant administrative pioneer of Alberta. The school was developed by the Government of Alberta to fill an evident prerequisite for school level activities that focused on work change. Starting informative offerings included one and two-year presentation and authentication programs. 

In 1988 the school was permitted support to offer school trade credit. In 2004, MacEwan transformed into an authorized degree-yielding foundation offering its first baccalaureate degrees. On September 24, 2009, the association transformed into Alberta's sixth school and was formally renamed Grant MacEwan University. In September 2013, the school formally rebranded itself as "MacEwan University" for all open correspondence and advancing purposes; legitimately, the name remains Grant MacEwan University.

The Griffins, MacEwan University's athletic affiliation, fight in intercollegiate recreations within the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) and the Canada West meeting of Canadian Interuniversity Sport (CIS). 

Alberta College Campus 

In June 2000, the organization of Alberta acknowledged control of the once in the past private Alberta College. Alberta College was then combined as a MacEwan grounds. Alberta College is only 1 km from the City Center Campus, and houses academic upgrading, music and English as a Second Language (ESL) programs.

Place for the Arts and Communications 

The Center for the Arts and Communications (prior known as Jasper Place Campus) is arranged in Edmonton's west end on the north east corner of 156 Street and 100 Avenue. This grounds is presently moving to new workplaces at the City Center Campus site once new workplaces are worked, for Fall 2017.
